how to make a centre point of an imported object Solidworks16

I have a problem when designing a back panel for a PCB.
I have imported the drawing of PCB and now my task is to create a back panel. However there is a problem.
When I want to draw a circle on a back panel in order to make a hole for a connector, I need to select a centre point of the connector and draw a circle from there. This simple task appears to be very hard to achieve as the new sketch should make a reference to an imported object. The best I've got so far was to create an axis in the connector pointing towards back panel, however the new sketch does not want to see this axis!
Of course I could draw circles around connectors just by looks of them, but this will not be any precise. However, if I do that, can I at least increase the grid size somehow? Please help.
