Sheet metal does not allow for compound curves

not entirely true, you can do a sheet metal loft in SW but it can only be fron 2 profiles with no tangency control. this is mainly for HVAC stuff, square to round shapes but you might be able to get something. SW sheetmetal is for any shape that can be done in a brake press but there is add-ons that can develop pressed parts, but they are not cheap!

Thanks for replying, but I will be forming this shape by hand, but I like to use solidworks to figure out the flat shape and dimensions. It does not have to be one flat state, I could be more than one because they can be welded together later on. Any more sugestions?

Try this parasolid file, made from your part, 90° revolve and shell, flattened in logopress. Hoping this will be usefull for your project.
