How to rename a part in the assembly making sure that assembly is aware of this change?

When I have an assembly with a large number of parts and I need to change the names of some parts is there an easier way to rename these parts without searching those parts trough the folder.

most easy is to rename it under Solidworks explorer, it will trace every assemblies that using this part.
Or in Solidworks 2011 you simply right click the parts using standar windows explorer (no need to open Solidworks explorer) then pop up menu will show up, choose Solidworks then choose rename it'll do the the same as if we did in solidworks explorer

Yes you don´t need to search in folder, you can direct in assembly click on part with right key on mice and open the part.
Than click " Save as " and write new part name and click save. ( Don´t save it like copy )
Than you can shut down the part and go again in assembly, and there you can see this part with your new name.
( If you make it manual in folder, Solidworks can have a problem to find this parts, and it will ask you for every part if you want to find manual, that is why it is not so good )
But with this method there will be in this folder now from every part 2 parts, one with old name and one with new name. You can than in folder delete all with old name, but a lot of better and faster is to use Pack and go function in solidworks and save the assembly with all parts in new folder. Than can you delete old folder with everything in.
