How to transfer rotary motion to linear motion?
Hey guys, I am one of the few people here who is not an engineer but I do like to design tools in my free time.
I wanted to make or modify a steady rest to use a ring gear to drive the fingers (actuators i guess?) simultaneously. The gear would have to transfer the rotary motion to the linear components and move them perpendicular to the centerline of the sun gear.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
See picture - use a motor with spindle.
