NPSM thread

Hello, I lost between US and ISO standards regarding thread.
I'm looking for a stainless steel nipple for a bathroom sink (lavatory) that will be weld on the sink, as per the one attached. But I need to get one according to the US standard as per ASME B1.20.1 but can't find any on platform like tracepart, all are in ISO or BSP or NPT, not NPSM. NPSM stand for National Pipe Straight Male, I guess.

The second point I can't figure out, is where should be the join? NPSM is designed to compress a join but where should the join be positioned? It can't be on the pipe as there is no shoulder.
Thanks for your help
