Re-purposing the Tiger Cat Mark 2 Missile Launcher System as a Mobile Aden Gun Platform

As a gunner in the Kenyan Air Force, I've been thinking about ways to repurpose some of our retired military hardware. One idea I've been working on is to mount an Aden gun from an old Hawk aircraft onto a Tiger Cat Mark 2 missile launcher system.
**Here's how I envision it:**
* **Removal of Missile Holders:** The missile launch tubes would be removed, leaving a clear platform for the Aden gun.
* **Gun Mounting:** The Aden gun would be securely mounted on the platform, allowing for 360-degree rotation and elevation up to 90 degrees.
* **Recoil Management:** A robust recoil system would be incorporated, likely using hydraulic dampers or a combination of springs and dampers to absorb the recoil force and ensure the gun remains stable during firing.
* **Firing Mechanism:** A simple, reliable firing mechanism would be integrated, allowing for sustained fire for more than a minute.
* **Locking Mechanism:** A secure locking mechanism would be installed to prevent accidental movement of the gun when not in use.
* **Power Source:** The system would be powered by a suitable generator or battery pack to operate the gun's electrical systems.
**Why this project is important:**
* **Cost-effectiveness:** Reusing existing hardware would be more cost-effective than purchasing new weapon systems.
* **Versatility:** The modified Tiger Cat platform would provide a mobile, versatile anti-aircraft and ground support weapon.
* **Training and Skill Development:** This project would provide valuable training and skill development opportunities for Kenyan military personnel.
**How GrabCAD can help:**
I'm seeking the expertise of the GrabCAD community to help me refine this design. I'm particularly interested in:
* **Structural Analysis:** Evaluating the structural integrity of the modified platform to ensure it can withstand the recoil forces of the Aden gun.
* **Recoil System Design:** Optimizing the recoil system to ensure smooth and reliable operation.
* **3D Modeling and Simulation:** Creating a 3D model of the modified system to visualize and test the design.
I believe this project has the potential to be a valuable asset to the Kenyan military. I'm excited to collaborate with the GrabCAD community to bring this idea to fruition.
