SKETCHUP OR CATIA FOR WOOD CRAFT PROJECT

Hello everyone,

I am new in the community and I am glad to be part of it. I have a question for you and I hope you can give me some advice. I am a designer and I currently work with CATIA. Now, i want to start to use google sketchup because I am helping a friend who is doing some project in a wood workshop. I think sketchup is better for rendering and user friendly. What about assemblies? Can I model single parts and then put them into products? Is it possible to make drawing or file for machining from google sketchup? I know i can create dxf but it is not so immediate. i look forward to receive your response.
Thank you

My advice is to go for catia. Also not sure about sketchup. For any doubts in catia I can help you.

Definitely anything but sketchup. So use catia. Used sketchup for part of a semester in college and is the worst design software I've ever used.
