Some uploaded assemblies without parts

Several files on this site are assembly models without the parts attached. When I try to open them I get a message that it's looking for the parts. Is there a special way to load thesemor did the people who up loaded them forget the part files?

That is why it is important to use pack and go, to create a zip file that includes all the active models, sub-assemblies and such into one convient bundle. Also that is why it is good to also create a step file or iges file of assembly, due to other systems being used. otherwise the assembly file is useless!!

It is most likely that the upload has been done incorrectly.. I say this from experience.(yes, I have been an offender too..:-). if using SW. It is always advisable to use the pack and go option from the file drop down menu, this adds al the files (well the ones you select), to a .zip folder . then send.. Dunno about other software though. Regards.

Hi Bill .
I have made that mistake too. I forgot to upload all the parts to an assembly.
Now, I try to remember to collect all the parts in one place, so that I'm shore that all the parts are attached to the .iam.

As the others have said, whoever uploaded the assembly neglected to upload the relevant parts. When in doubt, upload STEP and/or IGES files as well. Just in case.
