What's the easiest CAD software for a total beginner?

I want to build some simple models for 3D printing and I'm looking for a software that doesn't have a huge learning curve.

I've played around with some tools previously but haven't built anything in a CAD software

It really depends on the person and the type of models you plan to make.

Give Google Sketchup a try. If the goal is 3D printing, you'll just need the ability to export STL files. I assume the free version does that, but I'm not positive.

I would try Onshape. But that is because I have a bias twords SOLIDWORKS.

Like everyone has said, it really depends on what you will be designing. Auto CAD, Inventor, Solidworks, CREO/Pro-E, Sketch-up, Revit are just some of the ones I know. Usually student versions are available for lower prices. Not sure if you'd be able to find these for free though.
