I am a final year engineering student at Sheffield Hallam University, currently leading a team of 9 other engineering students in a project set out to design cost effective mine clearance equipment. I completed an industrial placement from August 2013 - August 2014 at Vauxhall Motors as part of my degree where I was given considerable responsibility in ensuring the correct distribution of PPE to personnel at the plant. My duties also included HSE auditing, COSHH assessments and industrial hygiene monitoring. I have experience in ISO 9001 & 14001 management systems. Since returning to Sheffield Hallam University to continue the final year of my degree, I have returned to Vauxhall Motors on a part time contract, in order to assist the plant in preparation for a large scale site audit. I have also worked part time for over 3 years as a project manager for a workwear company, where I have had a major input in developing the company’s e-marketing, online presence and lean manufacturing strategies. More recently, I helped an artist to set up an online business in order to promote his clothing designs.
