biography

I worked with AutoCAD for three years in high school. Now I am studying Mechanical Engineering at Boise State University. We use SolidWorks and I am currently designing and building a SAE Baja car. I also can machine parts with a manual lathe, manual vertical knee mill and 2 axis CNC vertical knee mill. Learning to machine really improved my modeling skills and efficiency. Now I'm tinkering with SolidEdge and Keyshot.

Boise State SAE Baja team Drivetrain lead August 2011 - May 2011

Designed custom gearbox to replace bulky ATV gearbox, chain drive and lawn tractor differential with one lightweight gearbox. I had no previous experience in this field, but did have a drive and ability to research independently. Collaborated with experienced engineers on best solution after research. Designed CAD model, performed FEA and established machining plan.
