CATIA V5 - Change axis system of 3D scanned parts
When you are working with 3D scanned objects, the axis system usually needs to be adjusted.

Step 1: How to change the axis system
1. Modifying the Default Axis System
The default axis system is the one that is automatically created when you start a new part or assembly. To modify the default axis system, follow these steps:
Click Tools - Options.
In the Options dialog box, expand the Part Infrastructure node.
Select the Part Document node.
Under Default Axis System, select the desired axis system from the drop-down list.
Click OK.
The default axis system will now be changed to the selected one.
2. Creating a Custom Axis System
To create a custom axis system, follow these steps:
Click Tools - Options.
In the Options dialog box, expand the Part Infrastructure node.
Select the Part Document node.
Check the Create and Access System box.
Click OK.
