-
Step 1:
open "tutorial_fem_piston.catpart"
select the "partbody"
click "apply material"
choose "steel" on your material library and click "apply material" -
Step 2:
go to start -> analysis & simulation -> generative structural analysis
choose "static analysis" -
Step 3:
create a "smooth virtual part"
choose the generated surface of the piston hole for "supports" -
Step 4:
create a "clamp"
choose the "smooth virtual part" for supports -
Step 5:
create a "temperature field"
choose the piston for "supports"
set temperature to 1 Kdeg (!)
(temperature will be multiplicated with "Koeff" in .xlsx-file)
activate "data mapping" and select the temperature.xlsx-fileyou can activate "display bounding box" to see your temperature field
-
Step 6:
doubleclick on "environment"
set initial temperature to 395Kdeg -
Step 7:
doubleclick on "OCTREE Tetrahedron Mesh"
set size to 4mm
set absolute sag to 1mm
be sure element type is "parabolic" -
Step 8:
compute your analysis
-
Step 9:
click "von mises stress" to show the stress in the piston
set display style to "shading with material"
click "animate" to se an animation -
Step 10:
