We took as a reference the set of solutions achieved in the NASA CHALLENGE: Ejection Mechanism Design for the SPEED Test Architecture, and we proceeded to propose alternatives not limited to the rear ejection of the capsule. In the M25 Chair - Synthesis of Mechanisms and Machines, we recognize this task as: Divergent-Convergent Creative Postprocessing.

I needed to shorten a part by 0.1mm. A quick and dirty approach would have gotten the job done, but what if there were more changes upstream? I came up with a workflow to remove material from the "middle" of a part while still being able to make upstream changes that trickle down to the shortened part. Sound confusing? It's not. Play around with the project file and you will see how to replicate this workflow.

This tutorial describes a method of modeling an involute spline gear wheel in Creo with a very high accuracy. In this model, the tooth geometry is created as a straight tool with a simple radius at the tool tip would do. So, there is no protuberance or any more advanced tooth modification. But you can create gears with an undercut very easily In my professional work, I had the chance to compare the geometry with the geometry created by KISSsoft. The deviation was really neglectable. Hopefully, this tutorial is useful for someone! If yes, I'm glad to get a feedback And if you are interested in the background of the tooth root radius formulas, just let me know.
