Feed Ar15 bolt carrier By Reimo Soosaar on 16 Aug 09:35

It is made just a for practice and experience.

It should be a completed piece. It was a hassle and I am sure some things could be made more elegantly, but I am happy with the result.

Everyone and their grandma does seem to have an AR, but I don't :( So I just might print me one :)

Ok, got the hang of the naming. I will rework this thing to proper M16 carrier, not a flimsy unshrouded sports version.

This page seemed familiar, so yes I think I have seen it already. That is one very informational page with so much to see and try out.

I need much more free time for CAD work/hobby :)

It is a really good piece, i had been looking for a solid work model of the carrier for a while now, finally found it, ty

I uploaded a new version - I made the gas key screw holes from plain holes to threaded ones (with hole wizard), so it should be more real now.

Thank you for the kind words. It is sometimes difficult to draw something I cannot put the calipers on to compare and verify.

So, if someone would be kind enough and compare it to real M16 bolt carrier, I could have some feedback on the accuracy of my electronic one.

Please excuse my ignorance but when I open the files it says that it cannot locate the parts for the assembly?

Matteo, are you sure this is the right model you're refering to? I only have the carrier, Harold Martin made all the other pieces.

Igor - very nice looking rendering. What did you use, Keyshot? That brushed look looks quite real.

Thanks! It's done in bunkspeed. The brushed is just a matter of getting the UV map on the right position!

This drawing looks really good! Is it to milspec? Can you also post the .slddrw file as well, please? I would like to make a few of these and that would really help me out! Here is a link to a site that has the mil specs for AR15 bolt carriers.

The carrier looks awesome like this, Igor! I was wondering if you would alter this carrier and add 0.0625" of length onto the front of the carrier for me. If you can literally extend the front out 1/16" further than it already is, it would help me immensely! I know it sounds crazy, but it would make my day. Solidworks prints, .slddrw and .sldprt files would be ideal. Thank you so much!
