Students can only use GrabCAD Shop if they are invited by the shop administrator. Administrators can also easily remove users at any time in the admin console.
GrabCAD Shop gives teachers and lab operators control over what 3D printers and materials students have access to.
Administrators have the ability to create as many “shops” as they want in order to keep different department and project orders separate.
Organize all of your orders in one place. Easily sort order by due date, or filter by printing technology or job status to get a clearer view of your queue.
GrabCAD Shop is pre-populated with Stratasys® machines and materials and allows you to add third party technology as part of your shop’s setup.
GrabCAD Shop supports native CAD formats such as Creo, SOLIDWORKS, NX, CATIA, Inventor, STEP, Parasolids, STL, OBJ and VRML, as well as common office formats like pdf, dwg, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Communicate deadlines, delivery dates, and cost estimates per order in a currency of your choice.
With an ongoing increase in build requests, it became necessary to add equipment and additional operator support to keep up with demand. This quickly outgrew our e-mail system which, in turn, required a more robust solution for processing orders. GrabCAD Shop has been a great addition to our lab.
It allows you to monitor what’s happening in your lab at all times, and gives the students the ability to learn. And I think it’s kind of creating a best practices mindset in their heads before they even get out of school.
I love how easy it was to setup GrabCAD Shop, with available machines / materials for my company and model shop. It took only 20 minutes.
With multiple shops for each of my courses, so I can manage each students' orders separately.
Ability to upload all CAD file formats, print files and others, along with a chargeback number is nice, so I know what budget to charge.
GrabCAD Shop has been a lifesaver for productivity especially with regards to managing the print requests. The front-end work requires a lot of communication between students, faculty, staff, and administration to be sure jobs are accounted for properly.
GrabCAD Shop takes a lot of that effort and streamlines it. We are very happy with the product and it allows us to focus more time on interacting with our students so they can learn more about the additive manufacturing process. We simply have more time to teach them how AM can work for them with research, competitions, and lab instruction and less time processing jobs day to day.
It's a great way to streamline the AM process when used alongside GrabCAD Print.
