Hi Grabcaders !!!
Here is my participation for the Exobike design contest!
I wanted to make a customized version of the Exobike and also respecting the constraints and the spirit .
I think Sartorius is right Sylvain, please check the guidelines, the back of the front fender should be no more than 20 deg from the horizontal wheel centerline.
Modifications done!
I made some quick grayscale renders to show you the modifications.
I extended the back of the front fender to fit with the rules.
I also updated my 3D model.
More renders are coming soon...!
Hi Sylvain, As I said wicked renders is there any advise or even tutorials you could point me in the right direction to achieve such renders as your self? or is it just with experience you are capable of doing such quality work. Any advise would be appreciated and took on board and would give me a great head start for when I start College in a few week's.
Cheers m8.
Sylvain will probably answer you back but it give a little start to your answer, experience is important but your photographer eye is important as well.
He will probably say also thar reference are important (find some pictures or slides you like and try to make something looking like)
Yes great and so educational first class work :)
I have just went and took out the polished parts of my V8 Engine block after watching your tutorial didn't relies there was more than one kind of polished surface parts with metal. Yeah getting there with my design but not 100% happy with it yet....... I know it will not even come close to matching such fine modelling skills from other but it has been a great and very educational little project.
Will, as Ben says, the experience is as important as your eye.
References are always a good start for a rendering work.
With what Ben said, and his excellent tutorial you should already have the basics for rendering.
I don't have much more to add ... I can explain my process of building an image:
First step I organize my model in my 3D app.
Once imported in my render software, you really have to give time to the choice of materials ...their realism already give a good rendering.
The second step is the placement of lights and the atmosphere of your scene. Try to put the lights on the focus point of your scene.
Step Three: Find a beautiful composition for the final image ... angle, perspective etc ... For this step, your photographer's eye is the key.
Last step, the final render ... free to play with the settings of your software and do a lot of tests in low resolution before launching the final shot !!!!
In all these steps, I always have a photoshop post production… this is the moment for the final adjustments and to complete my composition.
I hope that these key points will help you for your renders.
Yes very useful Sylvain between Benjamin great tutorial and your key point I have a better understanding of how to go about the basics now, Thanx guy's.
