    Thanks phil, no this is not a CVT drive. This is a primary drive that transfers the power from the engine to the trany. The pulley assy at the back of the drive is a clutch assy and you shift gears in the trany like a standard drive. This type of drive has a secondary drive belt or chain that drives the wheel from the trany.

    A CVT is a drive that is a variable speed drive and the two pulleys adjust in or out based on the centrifugal force caused by the speed of the engine. This type of drive acts like an automatic. (most scooters use a CVT drive directly from the engine to the rear wheel)
