Here's a second concept I thought about. I might be totally wrong, but I think that for the price that car sells, i wouldn't want to have to pull on a lever or something.

So here's the concept, i've transformed the handle in a styled button wich activate a switch under it and then operate a selenoïd directly on the latch.

And if ever the car had to have a defective battery, the oly thing to do is to remove the 4 small hex cap screw and remove the button. Under it still hides a cable for a manual safty release.

the switch could be even smaller so that the weight would goes down. I did it that way beacause i did not have the specs of a smaller switch. Installing a smaler switch would make it event less complicated.

Again this is my point of view, might worth the shot.
I have many other mechanical concept, but i'm out of time.
