How do I import a CAD file into Simulink and MATLAB?

For a school project, I have to use Simulink and Matlab to help create a 3D chess game. I'm in charge of making all the pieces and integrating them with Matlab through Simulink. Modeling is a piece of cake, but integration is not. Does anybody know how to import a CAD model into Simulink? The MathWorks site is, as usual, worthless and doesn't really give a straight answer.
Please help!

In that case you may need Simmechanics Link software in addition to Simulink. Refer below link for more details.

under block parameters, click on visualization tab>body geometry>scroll down to external graphic file browse to your cad file ie .STL
