How do would you model this ??
I was recently looking at modeling a davit base for an 80 foot yacht but the complex geometry is causing me nightmares and I have yet to find anything that works. For the last two days I have been trying everything I can think of but nothing seems result in anything that looks even close the part I need,
The area I'm having problems with is modeling the square davit base to the to top. , This part has a number of different facets going from the bottom up. I have attached a 2 D file of the base top down view and I have photo of the davit.
Im not looking for someone to solve the problem just point me in the right direction.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to model this part in SW??

I made a video for you. You need to loft between the square and the octagon. the trouble you may be having is you will need to "show all connectors" by right clicking when you in the loft menu. Then you can drag the connectors around to get the desired shape. I hope this help.
