How to apply a concentrated force at the center of a cross section in SolidWorks Simulation?

I'm trying to apply a concentrated force at the center of a cross section in SolidWorks Simulation 2016. From my research, I've come to the understanding that I can't model a "point force" because such a thing does not exist in reality and that I'd have to use the split line feature to "split" a small section or something of that sort. How would I go about it concretely? My model currently has a split vertical line running through the cross section.

Please see the attached picture for a sketch of the cantilever beam.

Split line would be the way to do it.
Make a sketch on the model face to be split.
Draw your circle, or other desired shape
Insert - Curve - Split line
Would likely be best to choose a single direction
Apply.

The problem is, what size circle will be drawn? I don't see how applying a force to an almost infinitesimal point/face is going to give a useful result.

But if that is the class, then at least you have a possible way to do it.
