How to create a cardio vascular stent using solidworks

Pls share the steps to be followed in solidworks to create a cardio vascular stent. The picture of the model is attached here .

Extrude the solid tube portion first, then come back with a projected sketch to remove the other material. You should be left with a model that looks likewise to the pictures you posted.

Instead of projecting it onto a solid rod, project it onto your tube and cut deep enough so that it will break through.

The method Mashi suggested should work fine.

A few other things you might try are:
1. Follow the same steps as above, but do so with a surface model. At the end you'll be able to thicken it to a uniform thickness.

2. The Wrap command may be a useful tool in this exercise.

3. As the model looks symmetrical, it may be easier to create a single section and then pattern/mirror as needed.

4. I've only tried it once, but it turns out you can extrude 3D sketches. This may not be a good time to do so, but give it a try, it is a handy thing to at least know the limitations of.
