How to set proper lighting for displaying an object?

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to render an installation I've modelled with AutoCAD, but I'm having trouble lighting it up. I think what I'm trying to obtain will better understood with some examples which I took from the library in GrabCAD:

I've tried to search for tutorials but I can't find anything specific about lighting this kind of scenes. I don't know how many lights are needed, which type, its positioning, etc.

I would really appreciate if you could lend me a hand because I'm really improving in modelling but I can't get good renders mainly because of the proper lighting. I know probably there isn't a wonder formula that works in any case, but maybe you can provide me some guidelines or any tutorial I wasn't able to find.

Sorry if this question is trivial or misplaced.

Thank you!
