I am planning to design using scissors as shown in the attached picture below. What structure would be appropriate to exercise scissors using a straight cylinder? Scissors in the picture are difficult because there is no fixed part. I'll be waiting for your ideas.

How about clamping them at the pivot point, and a simple linkage to actuate?
