USA Gun specifications and standards

Does anyone have any experience with gun design and manufacturing in the USA?

If so it would be appreciated if you could give me a little insight to the specifications and standards that are required in the USA.

If this is what I think it is about I tried to get todd chipman in touch with Jeff at the same time he was contacting you but with no response. I thought he would be good for that project too.
