What is clay modeling and what are the softwares available for it?

adam and william... m talking about softwares only and if m not actually wrong i think catia v6 has a clay modelling concept though m not totally sure of it and thus wants to know more about it.

CATIA V5 has the tools Imagine&Shape and Shape_sculptor. May be this is what you are looking for...
But clay modeling is what Adam said.

I've got a beta called Sculptris, it's freeware so check their site. It works like clay, push, cut, pinch etc. either directly or on symetrical sides.
