Put Us To The Test Challenge 2013

Creaform is challenging you to submit your project and win $25,000!

Creaform’s Put Us to the Test engineering challenge actually works the other way around: we ask candidates to challenge our engineering experts by submitting the project they have always dreamed of so that WE can do the job. Yes, you’ve read right: that project you always kept in the back of your mind, but never had a chance to work on because you are lacking the time, the resources, or the technology means…Well we might actually The winner will get $25k worth of Creaform 3D Engineering Services to realize his dream project.

How often do engineers get the chance to make their most cherished yet craziest project a reality? It’s exactly this opportunity Creaform is putting forward through the 2013 edition of its Put us to the test! contest

With this contest, companies both big and small can submit a 3D engineering project that truly challenges our experts! Among all the entries received, Creaform will select one project, which will be awarded $25,000 to make it happen, on top of our guidance and expertise.

To get an idea about what this Challenge is about, take a look at last year’s winning project. Creaform helped the Australian Institute of Sports design a kayak that was custom fitted to Olympic athlete Jessica Fox. The project, made possible with the help of one of our application engineers, took Ms. Fox on the podium at the recent London Games, where she won the silver medal!

GrabCAD's part in this competition is to get the Community conversing, working together and collaborating on potential submissions. We encourage GrabCAD Engineers and Designers to submit sketches here, collect teammates and submit a final idea to Creaform. What's better than a single dream? A shared dream.

Only School and buisness projects are accepted? If someone has a project in mind but he/she is not a member of an organization like a school or buisness can he participate?

If we have a project, and we are afraid that somebody might steal a patent. Do you guarantee that you will not use the patent unless he wins.

    Dear all!
I’m part of the contest organizers and I would be pleased to answer your questions this morning.
Manolis: Yes the contest is open to schools, public or private organizations only.
Connor: Yes a high school is also welcome to submit a project.
Evil, Lekaimadh and Eddwin: Creaform is a well reputed producer of portable 3D Scanning and Probing devices. It is not the mission of the company to develop products in other fields. We are also engineering service provider worldwide. Our goal with this contest is to prove our team is able to realize projects with the greatest or weirdest ideas using our scanning technologies or engineering/CAD knowledge. Likewise, give a wonderful opportunity to an organization not having the time or budget to develop it. Your project would stay confidential until its realization by our team. We would of course advertise everything once it is delivered to you. We would use your project to promote our engineering services and technologies but only after its delivery.
Eddwin: Creaform is continuously searching for designers; consult our website for career opportunities. :)
Hope it gives you all a better idea on our intentions and the contest itself but please feel free to ask any other questions.
    Regards,

you needn't worry about anyone stealing your patent, however by publishing your project here, you commit yourself to applying for patent within a very short time limit, or else lose the ability to patent what gets published.

@Greg Creaform contacted the winner. Since they were running this Challenge on a separate site, I would look there for any results posted. I would assume it would be around the completion of the winning project, around July 2013.
