How do I find dimensions on various Items and equipment?
Hi, how do I find or obtain technical dimensions on items such as a phone case? I can find the basic dimensions of hight, width, and depth of a phone but I need more information than that (such as buttons, spring, contour etc). I see a lot of people on here model manufacturing equipment, guns, playground equipment and various other items and I am extremely curious how they got the dimensions for these things.
I apologize in advance if the answer is obvious for some. I am new here and trying to excel my drafting skills outside of school (which gives us the technical dimensions of our projects).

Some of it you make up as you go, Some of it you go out and measure, and some you get be googling "what are the outer dimension of an iPhone 10" ... The Apple iPhone X has a height of 5.65” (143.6 mm), width of 2.79” (70.9 mm), depth of . 3” (7.7 mm), and weighs 6.8 oz (194 g).
