How to build custom property tab for edgebanding?

I try to create custom property tab for edgebanding,
I created a custom list in the "file property" menu, at "custom" and finished with "edit list" button. In the "Edit custom property list" I created length, thickness and width.
After creating an element, I assigned length, thickness and width (Property Names) to the Value / Text Expression. That's OK but I wish I could edit these values as I am designing wooden parts that require edgebanding (for example ABS). In this case, for example using 2mm ABS, let's say the length must be 2mm less to receive the required length at the end (after edgebanding). Therefore it would be useful to edit the values in the property tab.
Thanks in advance for your answers!

Hi,
I use SolidWorks mainly for woodworking. Most of our products are made of MDF with PVC edgebanding. Since we usually don't use pre-milling, I have to make SolidWorks automatically subtract the PVC thickness from the length and width of the parts before showing them to me in a BOM or Cut list table. To do this, I use two different methods (one for assemblies and the other for multibody parts). I know you already know many of the steps, but I'll post them anyway in case someone needs them:
