How to make a V12 engine - part 5 -
Crank oil canal
Crank oil canal
rollback the feature tree up to mirror1
use 3D sketch and draw a line. starting point and endpoint have to be center of the circles
delete the relations
enter z coordinate -5
enter z coordinate 20 for this point
add a plane ( referance geometry>plane then select line and endpoint)
draw shown circle on this plane
use cut extrude command
open a sketch on shown surface and draw a circle
use cut exturde command
now open a sketch on the green surface, draw a circle and use cut extrude command
open a sketch on the right plane and draw shown sketch. then use cut extrude command and cut the body
roll forward the feature tree and open a sketch on the right plane
draw shown sketch then use cut extrude command
use fillet command
crank is ready now
thanks Aykut Dana great tutorial
Steps 1-5 completed. Must have a break now. Great Tutorial so far.
Thanks Ankur it has been completed....... :D
kardeş çok sağol, harika anlatım...
buraya kadar geldik bakalım
I'm loving it, thanks
these tutorial is so great, thank you.
Here when I am going to make a line first step at that time my solidworks not shows centerpoint so what should I do for it???
Thanks Sudhir Gill one another thing I will ask that here it is displayed that enter Z cordinate I don;t know how to do that because when I am going to select the point it shows only two co-ordinates x and y so how should I enter Z ?? Regards
use 3D sketch command Manoj
What you need to do is select the end points of the line you have drawn, there you will see the x,y,z coords option. It took me a few minutes to figure it out also, I have no prior training with any of this software and I am flying through these excercises even though I thought they would stump me quickly. Enjoy and thanks Aykut for your contributions to the self taught community.
hi Aykut i am trying to add a plane but its not letting me. the plane option is gray. any reason why?
Just wondering are all these through holes or? I can tell that step 12's holes go completely through the body but what about step 14's holes? Are they through holes as well? Thanks!!
Please provide drawing for this.
can anybody help me on making oil canal in catia...
well I can't make this In inventor :) the 3d sketch doesn't work !
I like these tutorials so far, but wouldn't it be more correct to make the olie canal as a swept cut? I guess the crank would be casted and the geometry you've made in the tutorial indicates machining, which would be impossible. At least I don't know how you would make the diagonal part of the canal, unless it's be cast?
So far so good must get back to real world now. Thanks
