
Working with simulation with this design and having limiting success. Take a look at model file to see it.
The column assembly with spindle mount would be one study and the x axis mounting plate to base connections. What I might expect in deflection and vibration. Right now I am having meshing errors so not able to complete the solve. Will continue with some more tutorial videos to what I am not getting right. It seems like to me this is not so complicated that I should be able to solve locally? Work basically on my own (retired) with a basic paid subscription of Fusion. Thanks.
Just discovered that in the simulation work space the linear rails are not showing up, that may causing the messing error. Any idea what may be causing that? Will try removing and bring in again or find a different file for them.
Sometimes, the NASTRAN in-cad engine for fusion 360 doesn't consider surfaces with interferences between them in the simulation workspace, which happened in my case as well. Or the 2nd reason can be missing surfaces (if you've used the surface tools). Try running the interference check once.
