Lowish power (~500W) axial flux permanent magnet generator for a homebrew vertical axis wind turbine

Has anybody built one of these? I'm looking for something to play about with, without having to reinvent. Something similar to... https://www.cotswold-homes.com/how-to-build-an-axial-flux-generator-at-home/


But I didn't really find that article extremely helpful. If anyone has made such a thing, I'd be grateful for some advice, and or models to play about with. I want to build one to go with my machinable VAWT impeller (the idea is at grabcad.com/library/machinable-vawt-impeller-1), and would be happy to collaborate if there's any interest.

Wouldn't it be btter to use a simple engine at first and see how it works?
