What are the ads based on? Random third party ads?

I firmly believe nothing worthwhile is ever free. I'm sure the cost of operating a website such as this is not trivial. I see this as a good thing as long as the ads remain relevant and the revenue mostly supports and enhances the GC community.

Rather than "the same Community experience", I would expect the revenue stream to bring commensurate improvements.

We use Google AdSense. By default your see personalised ads based on your interests. You can learn how to configure it from the following Google's support article:

This seems like the beginning of the end of a great resource. For those of us that have had their fill of advertisements, how about adding a subscription based section, that shuts off these ads for those of us that don't want to see them?

Dear Community Members, right from the beginning our goal was to design and implement advertising to be as unobtrusive as possible.

Hence please be informed that we've reviewed and blocked quite a few ads categories (like Politics, Cosmetic Procedures, Religion and many more) from displaying on our website.

It's been a little over a year now and the advertising dollars that were to enhance GC and support additional team members have no doubt been flowing in. However any GC enhancement and support of the GC community has yet to visibly materialize. If anything, support and the website in general seem to be stagnant. There is no active support of the community. Support seems to be mostly passive with automatic filters that block some spam. I am quite certain that no GC team member is actively reviewing library posts and forums on a regular basis. Direct support remains reactionary to user reporting and GC community posts and even that seems sporadic.

The advertising was "sold" to the users as a means to enhance the GC community. It was not sold as a means to just maintain the status-quo. While I still support the advertising revenue for GC enhancement, I must wonder when this enhancement is actually going to materialize.

A year has gone by and the responses from the GrabCAD team have dropped to about zero in spite of any additional revenue you may be getting.

Reports of spam and inappropriate content are largely ignored. Occasionally, posts to these forums get responses.

When will the promise of increased staff support actually manifest itself? Or is it just not going to happen?

Rather ironic that GrabCAD advertisements are for content possibly stolen off of GrabCAD. In other words, GrabCAD is profiting from stolen content.

The last ads blocking page number choice

its show some adult toy to me. is that because of me or because of what since im using company computer

The ads are automatically assigned and displayed by Google Ads.

Google ads are pretty good serving ads based upon your recent searches and views. They look at your searches and cookies. It supplies ads for what you’re looking for. In other words, if you’re getting inappropriate ads it’s because you’ve been viewing inappropriate sites. This isn’t true in every case but it’s in their best interest to provide you with relevant ads.

If your work computer is setup to block all content (google searches and cookies), which is highly likely, then the ads you get will be completely random. It’s unfortunate that so many “inappropriate” sites pay for advertising with google.

In the end, I totally blame Grabcad management. They’re making money off of this advertising and they don’t seem to care where it comes from. As long as they’re making some cash off of it, the content, whether it’s from inappropriate advertising or poor quality models, is irrelevant. They promised this advertising would go towards site maintenance. I have only seen the site further degrade since the advertising was begun.

There are innappropriate, possibly illegal ads on this site when I'm not signed in. Please review what ads you allow so that you're not exploiting underage people.

Hi. Could you please share with us the ad provider or screenshot, so we can disable those ad providers on Google Ads console?

i think its already corrected because i see more tech ads recently. good job
