At my office we are designing a new machine and we are trying to make a decision about they hydraulic system I was wondering of anyone else has experience with a similar setup?
We have (2) hydraulic motors that flow about 44 gallons per minute each, we want to be able to run them both one at a time and also simultaneously.
The problem is to do that the usual way it means our hydraulic pump has to pump 88 gallon per minute all the time whether its being used or not. The prime mover in our situation is not variable, it is either all on or all off.
We have considered pressure compensated pumps and load sensing motors as well as PVG valves but none of that really solves the main problem of wasting all that hydraulic energy and heating up the oil unnecessarily.
Has anyone done anything like this before?
