In the embedded CPU community there is and has been a growing community of developers around a very low-cost platform called the Raspberry Pi that is an ARM core CPU. This platform has taken off in the last few years not just for its cost, but also because of its ability to be expanded with other low cost add on mezzanine boards called 'Hats' or 'Bonnets' depending on the size of the expansion board.
For this group, I would like to focus on the Wireless and RF capabilities of these boards and therefore showcase some of the experiments that people who are interested in learning more about the wireless and RF topics can explore as some of their options.
These are just a few sampling of the types of technologies that are readily available at this time. There are many vendors and many choices depending on what you are looking for :
So if you are already involved with a Raspberry Pi, now is the time to start exploring some of these many wireless and RF projects that can help you get started. Beyond this there are other projects for developing your own antennas as a good next step !
Let me know your thoughts and feelings on some of these boards. Thanks !!
