i will look into it - as far as i know blender can - i am checking whether autodesk vred can do halo and bloom effects
Wow:
Solidworks + Solid Edge + Siemens NX
I didn't know that their built-in renderers were that good. Normally only the dedicated rendering software would have such features... I will check them out. Been a while
Not exactly what you are looking for, but pretty cool results from a Keyshot Animation: https://www.keyshot.com/forum/index.php?topic=12977.0
Are you doing a static image? I'd try cheating before trying to render it. By cheating I mean Photoshop in a photo of a candle flame once the rest of the rendering is complete.
There is a pretty good starting image of a candle here.
I'd say any rendering efforts should make a pass through Photoshop before they are complete. It is very handy to work on various layers, have masks, selections, and other control over the final image.
To have the halo appear in a rendering, I think you'll need a rendering tool with volumetric lighting. Keyshot does not have that.
But check out some of these videos showing a candle flame in Cinema 4D: https://www.toolfarm.com/blog/entry/tutorials_dynamic_candle_flame_how_to_make_lights_hdris_flicker
Making use of this nice candle model by Chantal, I obtained the following:
A quick rendering of the candle and holder:
Stealing a candle flame image from online:
A little Photoshop to combine a Keyshot candle rendering with the above candle flame:
Below is the starting point from Keyshot. This is a default wax material made red instead of gray. A Warm Area Light was applied to the wick. Lumens were reduced to 15:
I agree FredSWUG :).
This makes a lot of sense - you also win a lot of rendering time.
You can even take each of the flame layers in photoshop and edit the shape a little bit to make it more random (ctrl+t) = more lifelike.
The lighting of the 4 lower candles will also reflect in the center stick and the chandelier... you can play around with this a lot...
I think so, only dedicated software has halo effect feature.
I think Keyshot does not have that feature. My boss wanted me to make a poster which has an image of candle. Therefore, I publish this topic. I can do nothing but complete a static image before add filters on PS. Thanks for your comment!!
