Rhino and solidworks serve different purposes, although they have overlapping functions.
Rhino is faster for freeform surfacing. It is a popular and important software program for Industrial Design or other works that required faster aesthetic modelling.
Solidworks is more suited for parametric modelling where the parameters can be changed later.
Contrary to other answers to this question, Rhino models CAN be made parametric. To do that, the workflow got to be passed through the inbuilt Grasshopper visual programming platform. Below video is a demo illustrating this:
