Hii their, I am working on a lathe slide in solidwork. I am beginner to motion study, i have no idea how to make it work can someone guide me how to do it step by step.

As long as you have setup a mechanical mate, you can then apply a rotary motor to the winding handle.
Hii Chris, Thank you for reply. That's the problem i am not familiar with mechanical mates in Solidworks. All i know how to build things and mate them with each other that's it. I saw couple of videos on YouTube but i wasn't really helpful. Can you please help me on this??.
How have you designed them to move with each other? is it rack and pinion?

Try out this video, Using TeamViewer is a nice idea, but mostly with internet speeds we have, it would be time consuming.
Try out more videos on Youtube i am sure u'll find plenty of stuff to help you on this mating techniques
make the outer body fix , apply screw mate under mechanical mates and then apply rotary motor to screw
