Moving on to a plane

I was given a solidworks part file .
The model sits with one face on the front plane and one face on the top plane , but the right plane is
a distance away from the model
I would like it to sit symetrically about the Right plane as though it was done with a mid plane extrusion

Is the a way to move it to this position and if so how ?

The correct way is by editing the sketches/features as needed. But, if you knew SOLIDWORKS, you would have done that, and it can be tricky depending on how it was built.

The wrong way to do it is Insert - Feature - Move
You'll shift the part along an axis by a specified amount. So be sure to measure/calculate the distance it needs to move.

A third way is by inserting a new coordinate system Insert - Reference - Coordinate (something like that anyway.
This is less useful if keeping the part inside of SW. But, if your plan is to export the file for machining, this is a very easy method to define where 0,0,0 is located on any parts. Just be sure to specify the desired coordinate system from the Options button when exporting a step, iges, or other file type.
