Why all appearances reset on saving part file as step file in solid works. Does anyone have solution for this problem.

STEP file is known as Standard for the Exchange of Product Data and is also known as ISO 10303..
Once saved from the registered Sheet all the appearence data is removed to preserve the original data without affecting the exact tolerance & accurate surface with bounding geometry...
If you want the appearence to be visible..try saving in IGES or Parasolid format & try re-opening it.

All current versions of the STEP specification will include appearances (colors). However in the case of protocol AP203 you must be using edition 2 for colors to be included.
The other protocols, AP214 and AP242 definitely include colors.
Make sure you are using AP203 edition 2 or later.
