Springs in inventor unfortunately can not be made flexible. The only way you can see a flexible spring is when you are doing an analysis in the dynamic simulation environment by inserting a "spring joint" which creates an artificial spring. However it won't appear in the modeling environment.

You could create an assembly parameter for the length of the spring and push that assembly parameter value to the spring part using iLogic. Within the spring part, use this length parameter to control the height of the spring, using the "Revolution and Height" option for creating the coil shape. This should give you the desired results. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Hope this helps and have a most blessed night!

    Peace,
    Pete
