Does STEP AP203 include tolerance information?
Hi
I know that STEP AP203 includes dimension information. However, I have seen many papers talk how it can save tolerance information as well. So, I designed a simple cylinder on SOLDWORKS and added some tolerances on it, then I saved the drawing as a STEP AP203. When I opened it as a text file, I was not able to find the tolerances. Could you please confirm whether the STEP AP203 includes tolerance information or not?
Thank you.

I've never seen tolerance information transfer via a step file.
I've also not seen dimensional information transfer with a step file
Sure, the features will be in the correct location, but I would not call that dimension information.
I'd call dimension information the entire dimension scheme. i.e. ordinate vs. chain, decimal places, hole callouts...etc.
AP203 defines the geometry, topology, and configuration management data of solid models for mechanical parts and assemblies. This file type does not manage Colors and Layers.
AP214 has everything a AP203 file includes, but adds colors, layers, geometric dimensioning and tolerance, and design intent. AP214 is considered an extension of AP203.
