Dynamic Highlight
Recently i format my laptop and now i run win 7 to the system, also upgrade my old HDD drive to a new SSD. I have not any problem at all, but the only thing that i expirienced is a huge lag when the cursor move in a surface (dynmic Highlight).
Before the my system run win 10 with the same graphic card GForce 9300 M with no problem....

You could check your graphics card driver, look at the solidworks site if you have a verified driver installed. Have you tried disabling dynamic highlight?
Last thing i could recommend is to download to the latest version. Even as a student you can install the service packs.
