How can I make holes in an assembly in solidworks (version 2013)
Hi!Can somebody please tell me how can I make holes in an assembly in solidworks (version 2013), so as the holes than appear if I open my part too.Is this operation possible?I would like to make a case for a welded structure, and I would like to assembly them by screws. (I have looked at a lot of videos and pages, but I havent find any solution.Can somebody help me please?

Hi Bertalan,
There are a couple of ways you can achieve your goal.
-In the assembly, you can go to Insert > Assembly Feature > Cut > Extrude. make sure that near the bottom of the Cut Extrude command, you select Propagate to part.
-Right-click your part in the feature tree, then choose Edit Component.
All other parts turn transparent (default settings used), and you can edit the part as you normally would.
The first option is faster, but I prefer the second one, as all part features become available.
Both methods create external relations though, so be aware of that!
