How to add an extra body to a part in NX

By James on 02 May 13:47 1 answer 576 views 0 comments

Hi, I'm new to NX and I'm trying to make a part that is made up of two sub-parts. For example I have an electric motor - one sub-part is the stator and the copper windings are the other.

They always remain together, so I don't want to make two separate parts and assemble them together, I'd rather just add a part body, like you do in Catia so that I can change the colour and blend out each of the sub-parts independantly. Any ideas??

Thanks in advance,

James

Depending on your modeling approach you might suppress the stator and work on the windings then reverse or you can move the stator or windings to another layer.
