how to use wrap command on Sphere Surface in Solidwork
3 Answers
create an offset surface of the surface on which you want to wrap. then draw your sketch on a plan and split the offset surface using the split line too. then delete the unnecessary surface & use thicken tool to get your desired wrap thickness...................I think it will help you
Prior to SW2017, the wrap command only worked on prismatic surfaces (cylinder, cone, plane) and not on complex surfaces (sphere, freeform, etc)
Try it with SW2017
To model an envelope effect on a sphere, use a surface shift and then a thickening.
