Is any standalone 2D program able to simulate mechanisms motion ?

For very simple mechanism, mostly for visualization and conceptualization, use Phun. Its free as well. However it is not for very hardcore analysis.
Analytix and Dynamix from Sailtre company, Working model 2D from www.design-simulation.com, DV3 (designview 3 from computervision) unfortunatelly there is no support and it not work on windows 7 - I tried it)

MechDesigner at www.psmotion.com. You have to 'buy' a trial version for $0.
It will anyalyse any mechanism and motion you need. It is 3D but will let you build in 2D if you add a mechansim to plane.
