hat’s a fair point, and I agree. If the goal is to recreate a real, existing car, some form of reference is unavoidable, whether people call it blueprints, photos, or technical drawings. Modeling purely from imagination can work for concept designs, but accuracy drops quickly when you’re aiming for a replica.
In practice, even when models are used outside engineering—like for visualization or presentation in a black car service context—designers still rely on references to keep proportions and details believable. Without that, it becomes more of an artistic interpretation than a true representation.
So yeah, it really comes down to intent and how accurate the end result needs to be.
