Modeling API thread form
Anyone have any experience modeling the API 8 round (or any, really) thread form in SolidWorks? I have never been able to sweep that thread on the taper for the length needed, and I stress never, it always fails beyond a certain length and especially in workaround by multiple sweeps which reduces that length at subsequent sweeps. A more generaized view of it would be that swept cuts on a taper, any form, seem to always fail beyond a certain length.

You are welcome to inspect the method used in my threaded fasteners.
Create a helix with the 6.25% taper and 8 threads per inch for the cutting tool path.
Create a cutting tool that follows the tool path.
